He Loves Me Not

When I was painting this, I realized I was relating to this little girl. I always had scabby knees and went barefoot through the fields near our house. I was pretty much a loaner. Like most little girls, I played the 'He loves me, he loves me not' game with flower petals. And like most little girls, I dreamed of finding that one true love. When you're little, you don't think of the storms on the horizon. But there is always hope that THIS flower has just the right amount of petals.
